In2food Killarney Gardens (Pty) Ltd, seeks to hire a full-time qualified (trade tested) and experienced HVAC Technician. As HVAC (Heat, Ventilation, Air-Conditioner) Technician, you will be primarily responsible for the fault-finding, diagnostic, service, maintenance and repair of air-conditioning equipment. Please familiarise yourself with the requirements of this vacancy before applying. To qualify and in addition to meeting the requirements below, have a sound understanding of the HVAC environment, equipment and practices, be available immediate, reside within Cape Town and be a person of sober habits and clear police record.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, repairs and servicing of HVAC equipment and systems
- The mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnosing of equipment and control systems.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Liaising with clients regarding requirements, quality and, completion of work.
- Completing technical service records.
- Maintain proper site house-keeping on completion of work at customer site
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
- Skills transfer/development of junior staff - Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Accurate administration w.r.t. Time sheets, Breakdown forms, etc.
- Communication with SFI helpdesk to provide accurate feedback
- Active contribution to improvement of procedures, policies and productivity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Builds and maintains a work atmosphere of trust and respect by establishing open communication among team members

Desired Experience & Qualification
Knowledge / Skills Sound Testing / troubleshooting / fault finding knowledge In-depth knowledge of installation, maintenance, repairs and servicing of different HVAC Systems, including:
Chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, split units, VRF's/VRV, packaged units, air handling units, multisage evaporative cooling units and Ventilation systems
Strong administration and organisational skills
Knowledge of service, product, and installation methods
Computer room cooling, packaged units, air handling units, multistage evaporative cooling and ventilation systems
Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
Good understanding of electrical and control circuits'
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory)
Valid Driver's Licence (required)
(HVAC Trade Qualification (Commercial / Industrial Refrigeration) (advantageous)
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification Nated Subjects N2 - N4 / NVC 2 - 4 / NQF Level 3
